If you are preparing to undergo a colonoscopy at the Colonoscopy Center of Excellence, you may have questions about insurance, billing and other costs for our medical services. There are many different kinds of insurance plans and providers, and determining what your medical benefits are can sometimes be difficult. At our outpatient center, we accept Aetna, Cigna, Health Net and United, but can also work with patients with other insurance plans, and we also offer competitive pricing for these patients.

We know that healthcare billing can be hard to decipher, and we have made it our goal to make this step of the billing process as simple as possible. If you have any questions about pricing and payments for your procedure, please don’t hesitate to call us at (888) 837-0459. You can also contact us to confirm your insurance policy prior to your consultation, and we will be able to offer you a personal coverage assessment.

Insurance Plans Accepted at the Colonoscopy Center of Excellence

The Colonoscopy Center of Excellence accepts all PPO plans (Preferred Provider Organizations) and will work with your medical provider to confirm your coverage. We chose PPO plans because they offer the most freedom regarding selecting a healthcare provider or facility, which has caused them to become one of the most popular types of health insurance. The PPO insurance we accept includes:

  • Aetna
  • Cigna
  • Health Net
  • United

We offer a competitive cash discount for patients with insurance not accepted by the Colonoscopy Center of Excellence or patients without insurance. Our billing department can determine specific payment arrangements for patients without insurance.

Fees and Payment Arrangements

Multiple services are involved when a procedure is performed at the Colonoscopy Center of Excellence, which are factored into the overall cost of care. The Colonoscopy Center of Excellence charges a facility fee for each outpatient procedure, which does not include fees for your surgeon, consulting physician, anesthesiologist or required laboratory and pathology work. These additional fees vary by procedure.

Each patient is responsible for any and all payments for his or her colonoscopy. If you have insurance, you are required to pay your estimated deductible and co-payments prior to your procedure. Payment methods accepted are cash, personal checks (co-pay ONLY), VISA, MasterCard, Discover Card and American Express. Upon payment, we will then bill your insurance company on your behalf.

Advantages of Outpatient Surgery

Factoring in both cost and quality is important when choosing a surgical facility. Because the Colonoscopy Center of Excellence is an outpatient surgery center, the board-certified surgeons offer personalized, high-quality care in a controlled and safe environment.

Our state-of-the-art technology, unique structure and world-renowned physicians give us the ability to perform certain procedures on an outpatient basis that would otherwise require inpatient hospital stay. Because inpatient hospital stay can become very expensive, many patients find that our outpatient services are comparable or even less expensive than those of a hospital.

The Colonoscopy Center of Excellence is a non-emergency, elective surgical center, which means our patients do not experience long delays and are much less likely to contract an infection. Furthermore, our colorectal surgeons and gastroenterologists work with the same nurses and staff every day, which allows for more efficient surgery and reduced time under anesthesia. For these reasons, the Colonoscopy Center of Excellence has come to develop a reputation as the “go to” center for exceptional surgical care.
